Come and learn from Dr. Lacey Russell about Soil Science for Curious Gardeners on Friday, September 11th from 6pm to 7:30pm in Whitehouse! I really enjoyed this soils class! It was neat to learn what soil type I have (we all brought samples) and what I needed to do to amend it for better growing. We had a hands on activity, potting zinnias and sunflowrs with different soil/fertilizer mediums. Everyone that asked got individual, practical advice on what to do with their soil. The lecture was informative and was broken up nicely with two activities. Looking thru the soils samples books provided was interesting. It was nice to chat with other growers of vegetables, flowers, fruit trees, etc and get their perspective and tips as well. We were also given recommendations for local nurseries and soils and fertilizers. Can’t wait to see what the next class is!
